A christening or baptism card usually comes from godparents, grandparents and guests, together with a gift. It often ends up in the baby's keepsake box, so it is worth having one with the child's name, the date and wishes written with them in mind. Tell us the colours and motifs: a dove, a baptism candle, a cross, a shell, a little angel, or gentle, non-religious pictures such as clouds, stars or animals.

For that, choose a nursery-style motif instead of religious symbols and keep the congratulations short. A christening can be on any date, and the files usually arrive within minutes, so short notice is not a problem.

What to write in a christening card
Write with respect for the parents' faith. If you know the day matters to them spiritually, choose religious wishes. If you are not sure, warm non-religious wishes suit every family.
- A greeting to the baby by name, or to the parents.
- The occasion, christening or baptism, and the date.
- One or two wishes: health, joy, wisdom, good people around them.
- A signature: godparents, grandparents, auntie and uncle.
