The end of the school year, just before the summer holidays, is when most families say thank you to the people who looked after their children all year: the class teacher, a teaching assistant, the nursery key worker or a sports coach. A card with a few honest sentences often means more to them than another mug.

Very often one parent organises a card on behalf of the whole class. Order a design with space for signatures on the back or along the bottom of the front, print it and pass it round at the school gate or in class.

You can also enter a custom size in mm or cm, portrait or landscape. A6 fits a C6 envelope, DL fits a DL envelope. You can put your wishes on the back.

What to write in a teacher thank you card

If you are stuck, click Write it for me in the design wizard, then add something that only fits your class.

• A greeting: Dear Mrs [name], Dear Mr [name] or Dear Miss [name].
• One specific thing you are grateful for: the school trip, help before a test or patience with spelling.
• Wishes for the summer: rest, sunshine, a good book.
• Who it is from: the class, the nursery group, the parents or one pupil.

Cards for several teachers

One design has one text, so each teacher with a different name needs a separate version. It is simpler to make one design with a blank line for the name, which you fill in by hand. A school or parents' association can then print it for the whole staff, and each card can be signed personally.
